1st chemo today

1 minute read time.
My Mother-in-law started her Chemo today, She had to go yesterday and have blood tests and a injection which took about 5 hrs in all. She has had 2 types today not sure which but it took about 1 1/2 hrs, next week she has the blood test and then just 1 chemo which should take about 1/2 hr. She said she feels fine just very tired from the last couple of days. The doctor had a good talk with her about the treatment and explained that she was lucky that she was being offered chemo as it is very expensive, and not all people are lucky as it is to advanced - I think this done her good as she feels that they haven't given up hope on her. I have told her to have a nice rest now and not go shopping like she has been. Somehow I think the last thing on her mind will be shopping. She also feels reasurred as they have given her a card so if she feels ill she can go to A&E and not have to wait to long, they also have given her a helpline number which they can ring if they have any questions. In the beginning they were talking about giving her 4 rounds of chemo but it might go to 6 now.
