Hi Patrick and welcome to the site.

My partner also has advanced bowel cancer and secondary liver, we were also told both tumours were inoperable and he is undergoing chemo at the moment, it is good news that you may now be able to have liver surgery this is what we are hoping and praying for if my partner has a good response to the treatment.

I think Peggy is away on holiday at the moment but i am sure if you send her a pm she will get back to you. Gary is also very knowledgable on the subject and i am sure he will answer any questions you may have.

Please keep us posted on your progress, we will all support you,

    Take care, stay strong Julie

There will always be somebody on here as well as Julie and myself, to chat to and ask questions.  The thing is, everyone here has the same thing but are on various other treatments and stages but in general need plenty of back up from their friends on here.  My hubby has bowel cancer, tumour removed in April but at the moment not sure if enough was taken away at the time.  While having the op it was found he has liver mets.  He too has a stoma which he is coping with very well I have to say.......except after a beer!  He starts his fourth round of chemo on Wednesday, then a cat scan of the pelvic area then another cycle and see where we go from there!  Liver people have said they will take him on provided he has a clear bill of health from the pelvic area and other parts of the body after a PET scan.......so fingers x'd!  Otherwise, it's just going to be treated.

How are you feeling, apart from the chemo?  Do you have a good hospital and plenty of help.  You will soon get to know everyone.  Speak again soon.

Hi Patrick sorry to hear of your troubles , but welcome to the site.

I had half the large bowel cut out in 2006 , but in 2008 they found more tumours. So they whipped me in and removed the complete large bowel and left me with a permanent ileostomy.

I am now fighting bladder cancer so the battle is still going on.

But this is a great site Patrick if I can be of any help to you  just Pm me  or email me.

We do get a laugh on here at times.

    Take care mate

    Jim

It's great news that the doctors are now willing to operate on your liver.  You must be so pleased!   I'm already feeling excited for you!

It sounds as if the chemo is working for you. What chemo are you on?

Also, which hospital will be operating on your liver, and when will you have a date for the operation?

It's great that you have joined us - welcome to the club!

    Gary
