In this blog post, we talk about the power of your stories and why we include them in our information. We also let you know about some upcoming guest posts.
Your stories can help people see that others have been there too, and that can be really reassuring. Including your experiences helps bring our information to life and engage readers.
Rocio, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and chose to share her story with us.
Here are just some of the things you’ve said about us including your stories in our booklets and leaflets:
Hearing about other people’s experiences can be a powerful source of support. Knowing that someone else has been through something similar may make you feel less alone. It might reassure you or encourage you to ask for help.
Diane, whose story is included in our Understanding ovarian cancer booklet, has kindly agreed to guest blog for us next week. She’ll be sharing her experience of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer and starting treatment, as well as tips on where to get support. So look out for this, and more guest posts coming soon!
As well as hearing stories, sharing your own experience can be a really positive thing to do. Whether you want to give something back to Macmillan, help others in a similar situation or raise awareness. If you’d like to share your story, there are lots of ways to get your voice heard.
