Hi, I''m afraid I can't comment on your dad's treatment and side effects, but just wanted to say I wish you both well.

I have been in your shoes and know how you must be feeling.

    Best wishes, Christine xx

    Hi

I had oxaliplatin and capecitabine, which I finished in February. For me, the tingling/cold hands lasted for about a week after the IV oxaliplatin and would then ease off. However, if I touched anything cold or went out in cold weather, it would trigger it off again. The side effects are cumalative, but are bearable. The worse thing I found was being unable to drink cold drinks as this causes an unpleasant feeling in the throat. I had this treatment for around 6 months (8 cycles). Numbness in my fiingers and feet started on cycle 6, and I still have this in my toes, 8 months after finishiing chemo, It is getting better, but it has been a slow process for me. Obviously not everyone has the same experience, but I managed to get through it with no problems and I am happy to say that I had a clear scan in July. If you or your dad have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
