My sister has cancer

Less than one minute read time.

Hello I am new to the group, my sister had ovarian cancer 8 years ago and had a full hysterectomy to cure it , she has been in remission for 8 years . Yesterday we found out it is back in her vagina but this time it is terminal nothing they can do only give her chemo to try and stop it spreading, it has already gone to her lung with nodes. I am devastated and just don't know how to cope , a year ago I lost my 22 year old nephew with leukmia and 8 months ago my best friend with bowel cancer and 5 years ago my niece with bladder cancer , i feel like i have not had a chance to grieve for these loved ones and now we are going through it again , i feel so many emotions but mostly lost , me and my sister are very close and see each other every day i just want to be there for her but also need to  talk to people who understand

  • Hello  I can fully understand your feelings at this time - it's devastating news and I know you need to talk to others about it - I know you have written this as a blog, but here at MacMillan Cancer Support we have a dedicated forum where you can talk to people going through the same situation - here's the link:

Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum

Just click on the link I have provided and once the page opens up, click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. You can then introduce yourself and your situation by  clicking on +new.

I do hope this helps and you find the people you can talk to who understand your situation.

If I can do anything else for you please let me know.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Thank you I was not to sure if I had done it right not very good with all this x
