My 1st consultation was today at 13:00 although being told briefly on the phone about my biopsy being positive for Hodgkins we were both feeing awful waiting for today’s meeting.
My doctor was running late so we didn’t go in till 13:45 that’s the longest 45mins ever..
My doctor explained that the biopsy was only a small one so the tissue they had could not give them enough for her to give me a 100% answer but it was 95% positive for Hodgkins.
They will do a full biopsy of one of the nodes to give them a better answer, I will need blood test, CT scan and a PET scan for her to be able to work out to what extent the Hodgkins is and how they will treat me.
She did an examination of me and said she could feel 4 or 5 glands in my neck but nothing anywhere else. That was good although the scans would give her a better idea, she seemed quite positive that mine was local but didn’t want to say for sure.
My CT is booked for this Friday, the Lymph-ectomy will probably be next Monday and hopefully the PET will be the Tue or Wed.
I will see her again next Thursday so should know more then.
My worries now are how the treatment will affect me and my work
