hypochondriac ==== made to feel like one!!

1 minute read time.

hi well after noticing another funny raised mole on my side and the mole under my arm had gone crusty (sorry if TMI) i decided to visit my GP. well normally get on really well with him but today i felt as if he thought i was imagining it all.I informed him that i was going to have the ops in two weeks at preston by the plastic surgeon to remove the rodent ulcer and suspect malignant mole he was more interested in how i had got a plastic surgeons appointment??? and that he could have done it in the surgery if it had been in a different place and not on my face. helooked at the one under my arm and said it was fine only a skin tag that needed removing using string wtf and the one on my side was not cancer only a strange looking mole. he then asked to see the one on my toe and questioned as to what had been said about it and if it was to be removed.

i currenlty have more faith in my specialists who both the dematologist and plastic surgeons agreed on what they were than my local gp. so think i will ask their advice when i see them in 2 weeks.

so was feeling rather low and yukky but been on chat for a bit and cheered up now obviously im just feelin sorry for my self. but had hoped for more from my gp who seemed more defensive than supportive today.

anyway enough waffle take care everyone xxxxx

    Hi Purp

You're right to have more faith in your dermatologist than your GP when it comes to issues with your skin, afterall, that is what their forté is!  But in defence of your GP, I'd be shocked if he couldn't recognise a skin tag.  These are generally completely benign, look like little cauliflowers on stalks and are commonly found in areas where chafeing or rubbing occurs, armpit, groin, neck and the like.  Tying them off with a piece of cotton is one way of treating them, not that I'd like to do it myself!

Hope your dermatologist manages to give you some reassurance.
