still waiting....

1 minute read time.

Hi all

Well, Im just about to head out to the hospital but thought Id quickly update this. Mum had to wait till 3am before they gave her glucose drip, and she is still in medical admissions ward!!!

I am going to create merry hell, she should at very least be in oncology where they are geared to treat terminally ill patients!! Mac nurse is aware that mum is in there, will try to speak to her today.

I actually think that because mum has been malnutritioned and dehydrated for a week it has contributed greatly to her downturn over the last 5 days. Dont know if I am being too optimistic in thinking that once they get som nutrition into her by drip or by fitting stent, she will pick up a bit. She is not in so much pain now so thats good. Its mostly that she has got so weak through not being able to swallow even water without it coming back up.

I am shocked that the nhs allows its patients in need of palliative care to go through so much, she should not have to fight for basic needs!! It seems so wrong, and I agree that an animal would not be allowed to suffer like this.

Anyway thankyou everyone for your kind thoughts and advice. I know that the witty me is in here somewhere, hopefuly my blogs will soon reflect this, dont like being all doom and gloom but am just SO mad just now.

Hello Sharon I am so sorry to hear of your troubles with the NHS, they do actually have their own time zone and I'm sure at times they are on a different planet.

I hope your mum starts to feel better very soon and if you need to keep shouting, although as Carol has said you shouldn't have to.

    Love Vee. x
