on top of the hill..........
Hi everyonexx
First, just wanted to say a big thank you to Jenni Butler, and to everyone who sent me such lovely birthday messages yesterday ( I did type this last night but fell asleep just before the end and lost my blog somewhere in cyber space!)
Anyway, I had a lovely day. Got up to discover that hubby had turned my living room into a pink paradise of balloons, streamers and banners. Was delighted to be given a stunning diamond eternity ring from dear hubby, and 2 beautiful silver mum charms from the kids. Then headed out to mums for a visit. She wasnt too good, having had 3 pretty rough days, but the pain relief seems to be mostly back under control today. Mum wasnt able to get out of bed, so lay beside her and just chatted which was nice. She and my stepdad gave me a lovely silver bracelet with a 40 charm on it, I was sad and happy at the same time because I realised that mum wouldnt be here next year to add another charm, but that I will always be able to treasure the bracelet and remember that moment.
Didn't stay too long as I knew mum was making a supreme effort to seem okay , she is such an amazingly brave woman, but I didnt want her to be uncomfortable. Headed off to meet my big sis for a quick lunch, then in the evening went out to dinner with hubby, kids and hubbys side of family (including my mum-in-law who is still very unwell but wanted to be there which was lovely).
Had a delicious meal, diet well and truly blown! Had a moment when my cake came and I knew what I wanted to wish for more than anything, and also wanted mum to be there . But on the whole, my day was fab and being 40 isnt so bad!!
Party Friday night...bittersweet. Wanted to cancel a few weeks ago but Mum woouldnt let me, and thought she would be able to come even for a short while. She isnt able to come as she is too weak now, I know that it won't be the same but Ive got to enjoy it because thats what she wants. I love my mum so much.
Anyway gotta go and ice 100 pink cupcakes!!So thanks again everyone for helping to make my birthday that bit more special .I plan on having a hangover on Saturday after the Friday night party (althoughSaturday is Mums birthday and we are all going out to hers in the afternoon so it had better be a very short hangover lol!)
Love to everyonexx
