Chemo what happens

Less than one minute read time.

I have had a horrendous night last night. Really unsettled.

Dad starts his chemo on Tuesday and I have had all these thoughts going round all night. Although the nurses were great last week and showed us the chemo suite and stuff like that. I have no idea of what really is going to happen and also what the aftershock might be like. I am worried that I won't be able to give Dad the support that he needs.

There is no set pattern how chemo makes you feel. It depends on many things like what cancer, what chemo, what strength the chemo is, there are many combinations of chemo. Some tend to get through treatment very well while others can be left feeling very tired or sick. You should have been given information on the chemo type with its possible side effects, if not you can go on cancer treatments on this site and find out, combination or singles chemos are listed on there. Take one day at a time love and I hope your Dad does well on his treatment and if you find it hard to cope just write on here and we will try and help you through....love Carol x

Kezzerbird is so right when she says that there is no set pattern in how chemo will make people feel.  I was one of the lucky ones and apart from feeling extremely tired all my other side-effects were bearable and I am so glad that I went through with chemo.

I must admit I was really scared before my chemo started but I followed the chemo diaries of another Macland patient called Locovan and this was very helpful.

Keep in touch and let us know how you and your dad get on.

All the very best to you both, love Heatherx
