Did the 40 mile round trip to have my pre op's on a beautiful spring day.
.3 hours at the hospital of tests and a cheast x-ray and a good meeting with my bcn to discuss the operation. Got another whole load of stuff to read and been through exactly what im having done Lumpectomy'wide excision and Sentinel node biopsy, apparently they have a swish new machine which will look at my nodes.
Been through how to deal with the drain if I have one.
It only occured to me when I was sat in x-ray that all of my tops go over my head, am I going to be able to get them on after surgery?
Went shopping on the way home to get p j's and slippers, almost ended up in tears in the middle of bhs:(( im a size 18/20 and was trying on shirts and couldent find anything to fit, my husband hates shopping and I was aware that he was well and truely fed up, I had it in my head that I needed to get everything sorted today as im not going to want to do it after the op, I need to lose about 6 stone in a week then perhaps I can find some clothes.
I will take a trip over to the next door town to Sainsbury as I can normally find something that fits their.
Need to go to doctors and make an appointment with the practice nurse for dressing change and get a new wash bag then think im set.
I have a 11 month old dog that I am showing and was going to do some working competitions with her, but am not now going to be able to do all I had planned which is another blow, I suspect its the same for everyone this stupid cancer changes all our plans:((
A week to operation day now, going to try and put it to the back of my mind for a few days.
My post op check is on Friday 13!!!! just as well im not suspicious
