So i had my bone marrow biopsy on wednesday and it was as i remembered from the first time. The doctor i had do mine was brilliant! Talk me through what she was doing and why, she just really had me at ease. Once the anaesthetic has got to work i got hold of my gas and air and began taking about 4 deep breaths before she began. I could feel the pressure and funny feeling down my leg but it totally took the edge off and also meant i could go home almost straight after. Once again after i stopped with the gas and air i burst out laughing like it was nothing to have a bone marrow biopsy! Jane (my dr) asked if i wanted to see so i obviously did and was shocked at how little they take! We both just laughed saying " all that we got to do just for that tiny piece!".
Next step is to see my consultant on monday and have my line put in and probably start my first cycle of ESHAP.
