not sure good idea

Less than one minute read time.

hey guys,

not sure if it was a brilliant idea going back to work so soon, have been plodding on for the 3 weeks but am so exhausted at the moment and cannot get rid of this headache and feeling so drained all the time, have had 3 weeks continued work and ok had one or two days where I have thought that cannot go in, but have done so.

feel a bit awkward now just asking if I can go in part time for the time being as they dont usually do this unless you are back from maternity leave, sadly I cannot make that my excuse.

need this chemo out of my body so I can try and at least get back to some normality again

kee you updated guys, thanks for readiing my whinging again

Hello Mark. Well it sounds to me that you should listen to your body and take more time off work - as I may have mentioned before, it's not exactly a cold that you are recovering from. All these various treatments must stay in the body for quite a while afterwards, so you are not doing yourself any big favours by pushing to the limit.

I realise that you want to get back to some sort of ' normality ', but going overboard isn't the way.

Why don't you see your Doctor / Oncologist about the tiredness and headaches ? Please look after yourself, Mark and get some more rest, take care. Love, Joycee xx

Hello Mark, sorry to learn you are feeling so exhausted.  The only person who matters right now is you, so go into work, speak to your HR manager and explain the situation.  Your body needs to recover and if you don't listen to it you may make yourself so exhausted you wont be able to function at all.  You've not had a bad cold, this is cancer were talking about.  If you don't get the understanding from your HR manager and the time you need, please go and see your GP - they will give you a letter of support for you to return part time for the foreseable future.  Please take care, good luck, Ann x

    Hi, Mark

You owe it to yourself to take some time off 'sick'. The exhaustion is overwhelming  - perhaps a visit to your G~P should be the next step.

    Take care

Hi, the GP should be able to give you a 'well note' which indicates to your employer how many hours you can work a week and if you need to do lighter duties.  The employer has to abide by it so give it a go. Look after number one.
