    I’d been expecting one of two things to happen about my PET scan.  Either to be told on Nov 28th that the scan was clear, or to get a phone call to bring the appointment forward because of bad news.  Instead something different happened which I hadn’t anticipated.

    It’s the week of the World Tour Finals which marks the end of the tennis season.  Time for an annual ritual which has been going on ever since I was at primary school.  During the year I write down the winner of every men’s singles tournament.   Early records are in school exercise books in my best handwriting accompanied with crayon drawings.  I later progressed onto spreadsheets.   I always end with a final entry…

    Those who follow my blog probably have already picked up that I am heavily into yoga and meditation.  This has helped me considerably through coping with diagnosis and treatment.  I am also a big fan of alternative therapies so I have recently begun exploring how they can help me with my recovery.

  • PET Scan 22/10/13 and New Feeding Tube 23/10/13

    Yesterday was PET Scan day.  It meant getting up early as I had to have my morning tube feed finished by 9am, because no food is allowed for 6 hours before the scan.   I had thought about going to the appointment by Hospital Transport but decided against it as experience has shown me that the chances of getting there on time would be slim.  It never mattered with radiotherapy but this is something I had to be prompt for.

    Well I have quite a few things to report since my last post.  Firstly last night I ate a full size dinner on a dinner plate.  I was very pleased with myself because less than a week ago I was still eating a third of a normal portion on a side plate.  Last night’s dinner was minced beef, boiled potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli.  I know there is still a long way to go with my eating, but it felt like a small…
