Monday 10th June. Still awating Radiotherapy start dates.

Less than one minute read time.

Well I am still awaiting my start dates for radiotherapy to start. I will give them a call tomorrow as its now been over 6 weeks since my last chemo.

We had a lovely week away fishing and caught lots of fish between us. Over 600lb in weight. They all get put back in the lake afterwards but some get a quick photo shoot first.

I have started playing lawn bowls again this year but have only played in a couple of matches in the evenings as I had a go in the daytime but they seem to zap my energy, probably because of the sun and can only do 6 ends.

I'm playing this morning with my husband and friend in a mixed triples county competition but not worried about losing as too much hassle arranging matches.

My eyebrows and lashes are starting to make an appearance again now, but I found some cheap eyebrow tattoos on the shopping delivery tv/movie site, named after a river. 6 strips of 9 pairs for just £4.

Hope everyone is keeping well. Hugs to you all. Xx

  • Glad you had a great fishing trip - looks like you had some good catches.
Hope the bowls match went well.
I’m having my last radiotherapy tomorrow - 5 usual sessions and then 5 more boost.  It’s been fine as long as I moisturise well and drink plenty of water. But the effects can be 2 weeks post treatment so I’m still expecting tiredness and soreness.
I thought the chemotherapy side effects had nearly subsided but my nails are looking brown with white patches so Docetaxel has certainly left its mark - very scanty eyebrows and eyelashes but maybe they are slowly regrowing.
Hope you hear about your radiotherapy sessions soon though it’s quite nice to have a break.

We won our bowls match yesterday morning it was close in the end, but we did good beating them as 2 are county players. Played again in the evening different format and we won that too, but I wasn't playing with hubby.

My finger nails are looking really bad too, full of ridges and white patches. I have lost 2 toe nails and waiting for big toenail to fall off too as just hanging on so using a plaster to stop from catching it.

Fingers crossed you dont get too sore from the Radiotherapy and your nails don't fall off, if they get loose don't pull them.

    Big hugs xxx
