This time I asked if anything could be done about sickness on day one and I was given extra anti-sickness pills that did the trick. I also had a warm pack on my arm at the first hint of pain and my vein is much better than last time.
On the down side the neuropathy has been worse, I could even feel it in my head in the early stages and had difficulty walking on one occasion. Still feeling it in bed the night before my 4th infusion.
I’ve found cold doesn’t have to be very cold, even putting away dry washing sets me off. I’ve also been extremely tired, naps most afternoons, I have managed to work from home, but the day I actually sat at a desk rather than on the sofa I was absolutely wiped out.
But I’m having chemotherapy, I can’t expect to feel normal. The worst thing is that when I feel physically ill it makes me reflect on what is happening to me, so I feel worse mentally too.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
