Husband came home from work early, daughter worked from our house so they could both listen in, it was a waste of their time. He phoned up about forty minutes early (which threw me slightly) and very quickly went through what was likely to happen in surgery.
Basically it is, remove the bowel and possibly the womb, there is also a possibility (about one in four) that I will have a stoma but it will be temporary if I do.
He went through what the PET scan had shown, mentioned that he wanted an ultrasound of my thyroid, also mentioned an adrenal module near my kidney which he said was nothing to worry about.
I said “what about my liver?” He replied that he thought I knew about that. I said I did but hadn’t heard about the adrenal module before only about the “thing” in my throat. (In my defence he had given me the impression he was going through all the scans).
This took less than five minutes, I felt a bit underwhelmed although not really sure what I was expecting.
