Sorry to hear that Nannydi,  The most positive thing now is knowing that now macmillan nurses are involved, they will make sure they assess your mum's needs and accomodate them accordingly.  The Ocupational Therapist will make sure your mum has everything practical she may need.  There is also Crossroads macmillan, social servives, hospice at home and district nurses whoi may be able to help.

When my grandad was at his most vulnerable The comunity palliative care nurse (mac nurse) and all the others mentioned above did a wonderful job of getting things put into place, especially at short notice.

I will be thinking of you and I hope your mum can be kept as comfortable as possible.  Good luck

    xxxxx   ((((((hugs))))))

Hi Nannydi, glad to hear your mums a little better. The best thing she can do is

to go into the Hospice for a few days.

T hay will be able to sort out her medication where she is pain free but

not drowsy and that will give your mum

a better quality of life. And you know thy

are there to help you with any problems

regarding your mum, and thy care very

much about your feelings and the way

you yourself are coping, so dont forget

to ask any questions you might be worried

about, family is important as well, as you

are all going through this journey and its

    hard.

       Regards Lucylee. XXX

    Hi Nannydi,

Sorry to hear your mum is still confused.  It must be so frustrating being so far away.  If your mum is going to the hospice for an aovernight stay they should try to stablise her medication while she is there.

I managed to get my grandad assessed and he had a carer coming in the morning and evening for hygeine and a carer who came from 10pm til 8am.  I even managed to get another carer in towards the end from 3pm til 8pm.

The community Palliative Macmillan care nurses were very helpful.  Has your mum got one?  If she has and you have any concerns you can contact her direct if you can get the number off your sister.

You may have concerns about the gas accidently being left on etc if she is on her own and they can be very helpful and know the right contacts which will beable to help you.

I hope your hubby is ok too.  I hope they make her painfree and comfortable soon. I will be thinking of you. xxx
