The worst 15 hours ever!!!!!

1 minute read time.

Hi All,

So I have had my 3 day stay in The Chrisites, which might I add nearly didn't happen cause I had the wrong day in my head. Luckily my fella has a better memory than me.  The experience was not something I ever want to experience again. When I got there I had my own private room - I was admitted the day before treatment because of how far away from the hospital I live. at 10:30 at night they came and moved me on to a ward - this wasn't the best experiences i have ever had. It really opened my eyes to how lucky I am. I had 15 hours hooked up to the machine in total whick according to the surgeon was very good because i had responded so well to external radio therapy and chemo she said that the tumour was small and that there was a lot of scar tissue. I was in a lot of pain and she advised the nurses to let me have as much pain releif as i wanted because she had had a difficut time incerting the rods partly due to the fact I havent had children. so for the rest of the time i was doped up on morphine. when they came to remove the rods at 5:15 in the morning  I had to have gas and air because the nurse had problens removing the last rod. She told me after that I was the hardest case she had had and she had done a lot. it took her 35 minutes to remove them. so if your reading this cause your due to have this treatment remember this is the worst case senario. The nurses and staff were lovely and a student watched my operation and he was facinated by it I was his first so at least i have helped someone on their carear path. The whole thing seams hazy now so my advice is lots of imodium and plenty of pain releif - take whay ever they give you even if you think you can cope at least then you might drop off and get some kip.

So now its just the waiting game i go back to see my oncologist on the 11th march - my bitrthday - so lets hope  i get some good news.
