I was due to have vertibroplasty done at London Bridge hospital on the 16thoctober but it was cancelledas the radiologist is away in Kenya because his father is very ill and wont be back in time. Having got myself prepared mentally, I feel like it is such a let down but hope it wont be too long for the new date.
I am also waiting on a date from Kings in London for my stem cell harvesting. My hair has just thickened out and looking half decent, so I am not looking forward to it falling out again when I have my blast of chemo for the stem cell transplant. I might just have to get a wig this time to make myself feel better.
It sounds as if you have been through the mill already without this wait hanging over you! I had my original op cancelled several times because of complications caused by a dose of shingles so I can sympathise with your frustration. It seems extraordinary that only one radiologist is capable of the procedure - can't they either refer you elsewhere or supply an alternative doctor? You sound like a very patient patient!
