Hi, probably the wrong group, but then can't seem to do anything right at the moment, it all goes wrong.
This is just really a moan about working tax credits. I am over 60, Den is by nature incapacitated due to terminal cancer (which I cannot come to term's with), but only now work 20 hours, did do 30. Now I only do 20 hours they are stopping our money. They tell us that as a couple we must work 24 hours, unless I have children (yer right I'm 60).
Because Den is incapacitated, (as per their rules, as she is on upper DLA,) she should be disregarded. Even their website and calculator says this. But they are refusing to pay, and want money back which I have no hope of paying on 200 a week.
This is really doing my head in big time, and I have no idea where to turn.

Hi ya, I had a problem when applying for ESA after several phone calls to ATOS and no joy I contacted McMillan Benefit line. One letter from them and everything sorted in two weeks. It may be worth giving them a call. Good luck.
Must have got a different person, when I tried the Mac Ben line, I was told to ring HMRC back, if no joy try Citizens Advice. At least got an appointment to see them tomorrow.
Well went to CAB last Friday, where we actually found out what had happened, where the CAB rang on my behalf. In their wisdom they stopped my payments when I turned 60. They admitted that I am entitled, but because they have now closed the record, I must now make a new claim. Which they are unlikely to back date the 3 months + to my birthday. Result I have lost 2 and a half months money.
Gets better, they now want all their money back 1200, on only 800 a month take home, that will be interesting. Oh well see if I can get back to CAB, cos I just can not cope with all this. My head is in a bad enough mess as it is.
