Hair loss.

Less than one minute read time.

Can I ask anyone if they have any idea when hair starts to come back after chemo has finished.  I have been on taxol and caprpolatan (think thats how you spell it).  Just finished about three weeks ago, does it take 3 months 6 months, nobody has said.  Marion.

It should start sprouting by 8 weeks but we are all different love, it will return that I do know and if this is your first time with hair loss the new growth comes back even better than before, the colour can be different, also texture ...love Carol x

Mine seemed to take ages to come back - I had my last chemo at the beginning of April (4 EC followed by 4 Taxotere) and I had to trim off some mad professor wispy cotton wool late June.  I had my first trim 2 weeks ago though it is still very v very short.  It came back grey to begin with and is now coming in darker.  And I have curls for the first time in my life without having to pay big money for a perm!!

As Carol says - we are different though...

    Good luck

hi, i looked like i was an extra in beetle juice but never shaved it all off,or wore the wig. It started to come back about 8 weeks after chemo  finished,   but came back white and very curly at the back  Iwas advised not to do anything with it for 6 months so just kept scraping what there was back into a clip was so surprised how good it looked when it was finally cut and tinted       funny how the hairs on my chin nver fell out!!!! still needed plucking!!!
