!st Chemo

Less than one minute read time.
Barry has had his first lot of chemo, other that being shattered and nausea he is better than before. I think the worry and not knowing what to expect made him a nervous wreck !! Actually went into town today he was really tired but at least I got him out.

I had my first infusion of oxaliplatin yesterday morning. I only slept for 3 hours last night and feel completely awke now when it is almost bedtime again. I normally sleep for 8 hours no problems. Is this a usual reaction? Does anyone know?

Best wishes to all going down this route

My husband, Andrew, is having a lot of trouble sleeping on 5FU, irinotecan , folinic acid. He is quite hyper. He starts his chemo in hospital for a few hours so he has to sit still, but then he brings the pump home and was in the park with me and the grandson yesterday while it was on.

Could be worse. Which hospital are you under?

    Helena.

    Hi Helena,

Barry has never slept very well and now he does get !night nadges! but all in all not too bad. Went for chemo yesterday and met a man who has the same cancer also having same treatment. He had his operation 2 years ago and at the time was told he had 6 months (hey what do they know) so there is hope for us all, he is on his third lot of chemo he has it for a few times the has a rest seems to work for him. We are having our treatment at Weston-Super-Mare its a new unit and the staff are lovely. Hope everything else is going ok, for you Best wishes Lynne
