You are Right Lynne.  Cancer changes us forever!  I have often been writing on her that we can't go back to our old life or to "normal", we have to forge ahead and create a new normal as our lives are forever changed by cancer.  Everything changes.  Believe it or not somethings for the better and you will definitely run across those moments.  As a caregiver it is very hard to watch your partner not seem to have courage, be depressed, get their head in the fight!  Early on in our journey down this road I was incredibly frustrated by that and sometimes unkind to my husband as I found it difficult to understand or accept.  He is by nature more fearful and pessimistic than I am, which complicates things as well.  But we have found a good place now and he is more hopeful and I am more understanding.  But it is really hard to watch from the sidelines, front row seats.  Most cancers are incurable and many are treatable, so don't lose heart.  Keep reading here there are miracles all over of people being told to get their papers in order with months to live and there are still here years later with a pretty decent quality of life to boot.  Best, Lori

Thank you for your comments, much appreciated. Barry (my husband) has always been very strong, fit and untill now hasnt known illness which is why he is finding it very hard to cope. The hospice nurse was very good and he actually listened to her so I am hopeful. The doctor has put him on Prozac but it takes 2 weeks to kick in !! should be flying then perhaps I should have some as well.

Isnt it strange how your life changes and how little you come to accept? I expect we will get better as time goes on, our chemo fight starts Now 25th so here's hoping !!! all the best  Lynne
