What is this site for...........?

1 minute read time.

Im sorry that i feel, the need to post this blog, to me  this site has been fantastic and has helped me so much with the daily living and coping with the issue of having a loved one with cancer.

I could not have got through the passed few very difficullt months with out the support of all the lovely people i have met here!. The one thing that stands out the most is how nice people are even though they may be going through there own struggles.

The thing that has saddened me is to see people posting negative bloggs regarding support ,friends or chat some people  have even  been rude and in some cases down right abusive on chat. it would be nice to see a little more positiveness. Maybe reading some other blogs will give people an idea of how in need of support some people actually do need.

Having said that there are so many lovely, supportive, genuine, caring the list goes on..... people here and as i have said before i could not have been without it. I do hope that no one takes offence by this as it has never been my intention.

To be honest  over the past week i have seen a lot and the thing that topped it off was when two lovely people who had both lost people very dear to them, were giving abuse form a member on chat, as there loved ones had not even been laid to rest.  I do  think it is important not to judge others  but to see this happened was very hard to comprehend. Well on a positive i enjoy talking to so many lovely people on both blogs and chat and will do for a long while to come. take care lisa

I, like you, love this site Lisa. I come on everyday and although I dont blog everyday I comment on the blogs and forum threads I like. It helps me through my own cancer journey. I feel there are a few members who spoil the atmosphere here and there are members who do become abusive when challenged and that is wrong. There seem to be a crowd who behave in this way and I stay away from those users. I feel the good thing with using an online service like this is you can pick and chose in private.

    Take Care Lisa

I never bothered too much with the chat in whatnow, mainly due to my time being used up very differently then, but now with much more evening time available I find myself in there a lot more nowadays.

It doesn't take very long to work out who's avatar or name causes a little smile or a little frown when I see it on the screen. In a mini society we'll always have the same fights and disputes we do in all walks of life.

All we need to keep in mind is to keep them in perspective and not let them become bigger than they need to be. And to use the judgement we have in real life.

I agree Lisa & Chrissi (will be checking my blogs to see if you comment - cos that means you like me LOL).

I come here everyday for a few reasons,

    1. I am a lady of leisure and this beats Jeremy Kyle ;)

    2. I have also become quite attached to my "cyber army of friends and supporters" and I enjoy catching up with how their treatment is going and the little things that happen in our lives.  OK there is the sad news every now and again but thats life.

    3. I got some fabulous support when I joined WN last March and would like to think I have helped a few people with relevent info or just lifted their spirits and give back a little of what I got and still get.

    Love & Strength

Wasn't ignoring you Bren your post hadn't shown up when I added mine.

Was going to send you a friend request when I saw your other comment about how long you have been on here, but I was worried you'd think I was taking the pee!
