    It is the end of May and ed has finished 6 cycles of chemo and just had the results, short and sweet. The docor said "it was a good scan and there is no new spread " sounds good but Ed didnt ask any questions so I kept quiet. We go back in 8 weeks.

    Life is good now the chemo is over, Ed is not grumpy and is very happy, as he keeps telling me. He is getting out to the pub or cafe even though only for an hour…

  • Santa dash tomorrow

    Dec 4th, the eve of the santa dash, only 2 miles, I can always walk it so why do I feel so nervous? I had hoped to train up a bit and look comfortable but the odds seemed against that what with the frosts and my own stinking cold still i got some new running shoes ( even though I cant run! ) so maybe they will grow wings overnight and magic me over the route.     Ed has seen the oncologist now and has to have kidney and heart checks before starting chemo next month. Containment not curative, not words we want to hear but fact none the less.

    Ed not picking up since bowel bypass op, struggling to eat every day but really trying.i liquidise good home made soups full of pulses, a little meat and lots of vedge.Bloods going up slowly and even gained a couple of pounds…

    Had a terrible weekend, phoned specialist nurse at hospital who is arranging a scan but dont know how long that will take. Has said if he gets worse to take him to A n E but Ed hates it there and knows they will put him on ward 34 which is the pits. It is horrendous watching him struggle, trying to eat, taking painkillers, taking movicol to try to keep bowel going then groaning in the bathroom. We both believe the bowel…

    Well we all know how up and down this journey goes and now today is better. We fell asleep exhausted feeling it was the end of the road but this morning the sun is shining and Ed has been outside and managed a bit of soup so off we go again. if he can just stay like this for scan and results we may be offerred something to help.

    I wonder now if it was the change of medication on Friday that brought on a reaction cause…
