Dec 30th 2009, have been away for 2 weeks to rainy spain, but everything was ok. Ed was able to eat out a little. We picked our restaurants carefully and chose mostly fish but we did share a pizza and it was great to be out and about.
Ed had 1 cycle of chemo but then his bloods were down so he couldnt carry on straight away even though he was already feeling the benefit of chemo and starting to eat a bit better. The docter said we could go away if Ed felt up to it and so we did. No regrets.
Now we are back and went to the unit yesterday, Eds bloods were ok so he had 1st day of 2nd cycle and is feeling a bit rough today and off his food again but has sickness tablets for 3 days so hoping this wears off quickly. He should have 6 cycles in total so , even though it is palliative , we are hoping for some more quality time next year.Roll on 2010 and lets see if we can prove the docs wrong again! Target...........sons wedding in august.
May we wish you all the strength to carry on your own battles in the year ahead.
