Hi everyone, I continue my quest to gain fitness in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. As my Mac friends will know I lost my precious husband Ed to cancer in October last year. We were married for 48 years. He, like so many, fought bravely and i want to make him proud and fight bravely too.
I was a couch potato but now i excercise every day and have entered to run/jog in The Great Manchester Run, Sunday May 15th. It may take more than the 1 hour target i have set myself to complete the 10k/6+ miles but, as long as i complete the course, i will have achieved a personal best, never having tried such a distance before. Haile Gebselassie is in the race, who would have thought he would compete with me!
Today I, and a group of like minded crazy ladies, battled 5 miles in gale force winds and crashing waves on Blackpool Promenade as part of our fitness campaign, yes I was last but no matter, i will do it for Cancer Research. If you would like to sponsor me i have set up a link which puts the funds direct into research www.runningsponsorme.org/janetsloane
One day there will be less fear of cancer, in the meantime we must all do our bit to help. may I take this opportunity to thank everyone who sponsors me and wish everyone out there the very best, love leisha xxxxxxxxxxxx
