Hi all
Mum In Law has just gone down for surgery this morning after weeks of uncertainty about whether she was going to have her op or not.
Have just spoken to Dad In Law who is making himself busy at home today...... trying to fix the washing machine no less! Promised mum i would look after him for the next couple of weeks, but he is such a stubborn old sod that it's going to be a hard task lol!
Sitting here at work..... on my own today so far and need some sort of distraction, can't think about anything but mum, didn't sleep last night.
Hubby and i got rather plastered on friday, both cried for hours, had to get my friend to take my daugher for the night. It has been a long time coming! Only thing is it only dulled the fears for that night, this disease is so very nasty!
Saw mum on Saturday, shared a chinese for dinner..........felt like the last supper! Charlotte was on great form though and kept everyone's morale up!
Have been told not to contact the hospital until after 8pm tonight (10 hour minimum op and then delays etc on top).
Will let you know how it all goes.

To be honest think your dads on the right track keep busy or go crazy.
Always tell my patinents family's thats it so much worse for them. Often the patient wakes up and asks if the ops been done yet!
At the mo you have the hard job gota try to keep ocupied and not panic too much yeh right like thats gona happen.
This will be the longest day of your life but you'll get there,your daughter will also probably be the saving grace of you all, kids have that knack of getting you through the tough times.
I hope all goes well with your Mum in laws Op Julie sounds as if you will have your work cut out if as you say dad in lawa is a stubborn old sod, I have a husband like that who is going through radiotheraphy for throat cancer. I trawl the internet looking for advice, does he take it does he hell tells me I am talking rubbish lol
