How clean is your house?

Less than one minute read time.
Hi all, Woke up this morning with the worst headache that i've had on radiotherapy (thus far). Not completely debilitating but still painful enough to have a day in the PJs watching 'How clean is your house?' And do I feel smug that my house is cleaner than some of these people? I sure do. I confess to being a bit of a hoarder but not to the level of these mingers. Lordy! How can these people live with all the cat hair and dead (and living) insects? Ikky! I suppose that we all have little visitors in our houses that we don't know about. But not the wee encrusted around the loo that hasn't been cleaned since the person has moved in - about ten years. Smelly boys. Double ikky. Shudders. JD

This is the piece that really got me going about hoarding.  Did anyone else see this?  I don't like throwing things away but I hope that I don't end up dead under a pile of litter like this man did (described by a neighbour as "a bit of a hermit" - understatement much?), or having to tunnel around my house.  Thank the lord for open plan designs.  It's true that I prefer my own company (or Dutchcloggie) but wow!  DC keeps me under control.  We have lots of bins around the house and we recycle regularly.  Go us!

Radiotherapy is going well.  I haven't lost any hair yet but my scalp is a bit red and flaky.  My hair hurts when I run my hands through it which is a bit unpleasant but at least I have all of it to run my hands through.  The headache is still there but i'm doing ok with paracetomol and the reduced dexamethasone and increased Tegrotol seem to be doing the trick with my mini seizure things.  Hurrah.

    Speak again later.

I finished radiotherapy about a month ago and had plenty of days like you're having JPD. All I can say is thank God for Sky! I found myself watching anything I could rather than have Jeremy Kyle on. I became quite addicted to Deadliest Catch on Discovery. You would think there's only so much Crab fishing you could watch but no..it rocks! Hey anything to keep your mind off boredom/pain/despair is great!

BTW sindy123 I'm sorry to say there's plenty of people on What Now who don't understand how to chill out and bring everybody (who are probably already pretty low) down. Just ignore them and read the posts from the people you genuinely want to support others.

    Peace

I think I am the biggest Ice Road Truckers fan in the world !!  I was so disappointed that Jay Westguard wasn't in Series 2 - I really liked him !! (wink, nudge)

I love How Clean is Your House.  On a similar note I recently watched an Animal Rescue type propgram, from the UK (I am addicted to Animal Planet channel) and this a-hole kept 2 dogs in the kitchen and I swear every single surface of the units, the washing machine, doors, floor and the dogs was covered in shit - except the sink and the draining board - which had washing up drying in a rack !!!!  OH MY GOD !!  The bloke was actually living in this filth!  (Anyway happy ending - he disclaimed the dogs who got shaved and washed up and re-homed)

Makes my house, full of dog hair and mud, look like Anthea Turners !!
