Terminal diagnosis - OK I'm off to Florida then!!!

1 minute read time.
So I am not happy about my cancer returning at all but I wasnt ready to go straight onto the 'treatment rollercoaster' so I underwent a teeny bit of radiotherapy to my sternum (4 days) which finished on the Wednesday, on the Thursday I travelled to London and on Friday went to Florida. Had never been before and soooo wanted to go (had been saving for a while but funds not enough) so my Brother and his wife helped us out and before we knew where we were we were there. Fantastic! The kids couldnt believe they got off school but in the circumstances I was allowed to take them, My girls are 13 1nd 14 so went into rollercoaster/scary ride heaven. I got to do the Jaws ride at Universal which I had always wanted to do (how sad is that!???!). We had a fab time and have lots and lots of memories and most importantly my girlies have tons of happy photos. You really get stung by the insurance companies though - apart from phoning about 17 different premium rate tel numbers then they ring back and say - no chance or else quote a price that would get you a lovely conservatory or something - my Brother to the rescue again - thanks best bro. Anyway now that I have those memories and I got to have my dream holiday I can sit with my chemo drip and plan the next trip (ha). My Macmillan nurse confessed that she thought I was mad but could see how much it had benefitted me and the girls to go. When my Daughters come home I think I will ask them to help me to post some photos 'cos I dont know where to start. I think my mantra for dealing with secondary breast cancer is going to be 'on MY terms'. Anyone else done anything before treatment?

You do what you want to!  Only you know how you feel, and there is no doubt that us lot who have been deemed terminal can still have a great time if we are doing things we love, with the people we love.  xxxx  Penny
