Am I going crazy?

Less than one minute read time.
pfft.. Ive finished chemo almost a year ago now, and the time is slowly creeping up to my 1year MRI.. and i am SOOOO unbeliveably sure im going insane! i cant help but think... 'ive got and head ache' it must be back! 'my arms hurting' it's definalty back! is it me, or has any one else experienced this obsession with constantly thinking this? is it normal? the other day, my boyfriend dean had just done a work out, and came in the room and said, 'ooof.. ive got a head ache' and immediatley i thought..' oh my god! go to the doctors' i keep associating everything to do with illness's with cancer! arrrgghh.. im becoming a hypacondraic (i don't think thats how you spell it!) but you know what i mean... serioulsy, i dream about it, i think about it.. lol.. im crazy are'nt i? some one please tell me this is normal!! much love xx

Hi Joanne , I am over 3 years out from diagnosis and I still get the same feelings as you do when I go for checkups, every twinge has me anxious and I think it is normal to feel that way after cancer and the treatments. My friend pointed out to me that just because you have had cancer you will still get stomach upsets,  headaches , flu etc like everyone else but that doesnt mean the cancer has come back. I do understand where you are coming from and wish you contiued good health .

    Take care love Angie

Hi Joanne, Yes Im the same too.Recently had a lot of backache so went to the doctors, and was promptly given a leaflet on exersizes for the back!Felt daft but didnt like to complain or explain fears.I didnt have a scan before last appointment and i dont altogether trust the blood tests for ca125 as they didnt increase last time when tumour showed up.You mentioned mri scan,i only had one of those right at the very beginning(lots of ct since)Is it normal practice to have mri after so long, are they better? Anyway, i hope yours goes well, let us know.xx

hi lesley thnk you very much for the reply to my post.. i had some fantastic and encouraging advice :) (this site is great)

in response to your question regarding my MRI's, becuase i only have one ovary left, and still young enough to make a family, my oncologist prefers me to have MRI rather than CT's simply becuase of the nature of the x rays in the CT. which can be damaging to my remaining ovary! (i LOVE my oncologist!) i dont think that one is particularly better than the other i just think it depends on what there looking at rather than where. i hope thats help !!

    lots of love xx
