I need a good scratch!

1 minute read time.
I had my final CMF last Wednesday. I haven't really had any trouble with side effects up till then, a couple of days of this , a couple of days of that. But I should have realised how sneaky chemo is.The methotrexate decided to give me one last surprise. I woke up last Tuesday covered in nettle rash and itching like billy-oh! Husbad was so helpful, muttered the magic word calamine and then went back to sleep. I soaked my hands in cold water and scratched for dear life. The calamine gave some slight relief By morning the rash had disappeared and all was well but I mentioned it to the chemo nurse who suggested anti histamine tablets if need be. Well early Sunday morning I woke itching again and after a good scratch took one tablet. Big mistake! Next thing I new it was 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon!!!! Since then it has popped up here and there unannounced, itching like hell! And the swine seems to have take a fancy to the arm I can't bl***y scratch. So there was I celebrating the end of chemo whilst the little devil had one last trick up its sleeve. So anyone got a good solid scratching post they can lend me? Jazzx

Sorry no scratching post, but you keep those fingers away from your bad arm or I'll have to send you a pair of mittens.  I have developed a case of chronic sneezing for a couple of days after both parts of the last CMF.  Thought I was going to get a cold - but it suddenly just goes:o)) - very strange.  Really tired though, not helped by not sleeping much!

    Take care

    Love
