Dipping a toe in the real world

1 minute read time.
Spent four days last week at my union’s conference and it felt so good being out in the real world you know what I mean having to get up and going out first thing in the morning and then feeling as if I were doing something rather than just pottering about. The hotel I was staying at was part of the Albert Dock complex, the only problem with it was the heating which seemed always to be on high, so did not sleep well. Was so busy I didn’t even get a chance to ferry across the Mersey, something |I have always done when in Liverpool. Had a good journey back until I got to Manchester and had to get the connecting train. To say we were packed like sardines in a tin is an understatement. Fortunately I was only going a couple of stations. When I got home I decided to chase up the occupational health interview I have to attend before I go back to work. I was told it could take a couple of weeks for the appointment to come through but the letter arrived today, the appointment is for May5th which is good because my chemo will be over ( hurrah) and I will have seen my oncologist and will have a better idea of when the radiotherapy will begin. I have all fingers and toes crossed that I will be allowed back to work. I have so missed the children in school it will be lovely to be back among them.
