well stage two is over with, went in on the 13th November to Barts for partial masectomy and lymph node clearance, came out thursday just gone. It wasnt so bad, i was terrified as i had never had operation before but it was over in a flash, bit sore but nothing too desperate, lovely healing process in the ward, as we all chatted it out, compared notes, had a laugh, healed well. I feel like a million tonne weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Results on the lst December to see if i have to have full masect. but hopefully the cancer has gone and I can deal with radio therapy and get on with my new cancer free life. For all that are about to go into this surgery dont worry, its not so bad, with positive spirit we can overcome anything that comes our way. Love to all and good healing for everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear janice, I'm so glad you have recovered after your op and you are sounding so positive towards your future. I had the same operation as you this week and await patiently for my results, it would be so nice if we could get the results the day after operation but never mind. Hopefully the radiotherapy will be the final hurdle for us as we both have done so well so far. I find it comforting to know that we have been experiencing the same all the way along and lets hope we both get good results from our op. I've decided that if a further operation is needed then I will have the mastectomy at that point. While i was in hospital, like yourself, i met some wonderful women who had mastectomies and they recovered as quickly as I have, so the idea of mastectomy is not so daunting anymore, the healing vibes of us all is a wonderful thing and I wish you good luck for the rest of your treatment my dear.
