Just when you think its safe

Less than one minute read time.
Two weeks after my final chemo session, just when you think you are safe then i fell foul of the dreaded and most feared neutropenia. Found i had severe flu like symptons last wednesday and thursday and was at work would you believe, but thursday night i couldnt get warm, despite a roaring fire, hot water bottle and blanket whilst on the sofa, my daughter took my temperature and immediately rang the hospital. I had to go in there and then and was admitted until i came out this evening, was in protective isolation and felt thoroughly miserable. So just a gentle reminder to take care even if its your last treatment you dont get away with this. I know i shouldnt moan and some people can get this awful infection whilst halfway through chemo and i guess i was lucky it was the last one so wont fall foul of it again. Thankfully i am back at my daughters home in Hertfordshire even with 4 inches of snow in the back garden. But at least i am out of hospital. Love to all xxxxxxx janis
