hairy legs

1 minute read time.
Who would ever have thought that discovering you had hairy legs again 8 weeks after end of chemo could give you so much joy! Not just whispy mind you but they look like an italian footballers legs lol. The hair there was the last to go after chemo (head being first) and first to sprout back with avengence and dark dark brown to boot. Now i can enjoy the girlie things again like shaving them and feeling normal. The hair on the unmentionables is coming back too also dark dark and growing well beyond the bikini line. (sorry for men reading this) but answer me this! Why is the hair on my head growing back white and brillo pad colour - i look like father christmas its covering well at the back of the head and around the ears but this morning I have been examining with mirror to see back and top and the bald bit on the top has gone a dark dirty grey colour which means, hpopefully it will grow again soon as there are folicules under the skin but dingy grey. Well i know we cant have everything and i am SO EXCITED to be growing hair again after 9 months being bald whatever colour it is. Now i am late for work as i have spent a very vain hour finding every wonderful growing hair there is sprouting through and i am not shaving the legs until new year lol. What inane drivel I write, thanks for reading lol. Have a good day everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just wait till your eyelashes come back and can use Mascara again!! :o) Sometimes Cancer makes us appreciate the littlest things. Have a nice Christmas watching your hair grow back! (It was whenever the wind blew after my hair grew in (2003) - and I didn't have any more heart stopping 'will my wig blow off' moments)!! Jools xx

Why are the legs the last to go and the first to come back?  Huh, typical!

Hope your scalp starts behaving in a likewise energetic manner very soon.  xxxxx Penny

My poor eyebrows and lashes were the last to go - please God they're the first to come back!  Enjoy admiring your stubbly legs, Jan - hope I join you soon . . .

    Merry Christmas

    Love and hugs, Kate xxxx

Well I didn't lose my leg hair so I'm very put out!!!! Lost the eyelashes and eye brows - now that is  a strange look isn't it. Got really sore eyes so there is a  point to eyelashes. Hair under arms has come back but quite sparse. so now have to shave there but carefully as no feeling in left armpit due to lymph nodes removed. I usedcold cap so hair went very, very thin - just as well - if one more person said "never mind you'll be like Kylie with those lovely scarves" I'd have hit them. Yes she looked lovely, but then she'd look lovely in anything. It's nice this winter to have proper hair again  whereas at the end of chemo this time last year I felt theicy winds blowing thro. Oh the joy in simple things x
