hairy legs

1 minute read time.
Who would ever have thought that discovering you had hairy legs again 8 weeks after end of chemo could give you so much joy! Not just whispy mind you but they look like an italian footballers legs lol. The hair there was the last to go after chemo (head being first) and first to sprout back with avengence and dark dark brown to boot. Now i can enjoy the girlie things again like shaving them and feeling normal. The hair on the unmentionables is coming back too also dark dark and growing well beyond the bikini line. (sorry for men reading this) but answer me this! Why is the hair on my head growing back white and brillo pad colour - i look like father christmas its covering well at the back of the head and around the ears but this morning I have been examining with mirror to see back and top and the bald bit on the top has gone a dark dirty grey colour which means, hpopefully it will grow again soon as there are folicules under the skin but dingy grey. Well i know we cant have everything and i am SO EXCITED to be growing hair again after 9 months being bald whatever colour it is. Now i am late for work as i have spent a very vain hour finding every wonderful growing hair there is sprouting through and i am not shaving the legs until new year lol. What inane drivel I write, thanks for reading lol. Have a good day everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Heh Jan, bet you never thought you'd be glad of monkey legs! Just pray it doesn't get out of control and spread to your chest. Avoid the brown ale - it's guaranteed to make your chest hairy.

    Best wishes, Shelagh

i love my new found hairyness and although it was nice for a while not to have to shave my armpits and legs its nice to feel 'normal' again. my hair ( on my head ) has grown to about 2 inches in 4 months which is quite good but i find myself in the predicament that i don't want to let go of my hat which has been my security blanket for so long , i'm not sure when to do the big reveal . i kind of want to take off my hat but don't want anybody to comment ,i f you get my drift !

    hoping you enjoy your xmas

I'm glad its not just me that wondered why my legs were hairy whereas the rest of me isn't.  I quite liked not having to shave my legs (I am lazy, one less thing to do).  My hair fell out and I wasn't too bothered but when my eyebrows started to go I found that quite upsetting but luckily they just thinned and are now growing back.  My hair is started to grow back a bit fluff-like but it's quite exciting!

I found this so funny Janice, I'm glad your enjoying your post chemo suprises!!  I too am discovering the excitement of re hairgrowth.  I've got about 2cms on my head which is a sort of speckly brown carpet colour, it doesn't seem to be growing very quickly, compared to my eye brows!!  They are very bushy now and kind of resemble thick caterpillars!!  My eyelashes are appearing.....Yippee!!  However, not much on the legs yet.  My rather handsome moustache came back 1st but it had to go!! ..Oh the joys.......

    Love

Oh I don't know whether to feel pleased or left out of the gang, I have only lost half the hair in unmentionable places - very strange - and my underarms.  The rest is still there, but I keep expecting eyelashes and eyebrows to go soon after treatment 3, but if it does I will ony have one more Epi then on to CMF - which apparently doesn't make you lose your hair.  The hair on me head seems to be hanging in there thanks to the Cold Cap - long may it last.

    Good luck all
