any info on cancer of the gullet and liver

Hi Jac - I don't have the same type of cancer as you, mine started in my left lung and they think it has escaped to infect my bones and they also said there was a speck on my liver, which they thought was cancerous - almost definitely so, as the speck had disappeared following my second chemotherapy cycle (I had 3). My brother has cancer of the gullet, they can't operate as it is too big, he has trouble swallowing and I guess it has spread although he didn't ask.

He is very upbeat and jokes about it, he is having a trial drug with his chemo but now has a blood clot in his leg so didn't have the chemo last week.

What have they offered you?

Sorry I can't be much help as he has only had one session of chemo but am going to see him tomorrow.

My husband has just had this cancer removed........

He is in intensive care as he only had his op on monday.....

he had 9 weeks chemo...which only the last 3 caused probs...

but it was,nt as bad as he thought it was going to be..the chemo shrunk

the cancer very quick within 6 days ...he could,nt swallow anything before..

Hi lesley sorry ive only just replied not been feeling to good,sorry to hear about your brother,they said mine had gone to far so they could not operate and because it as gone to my liver,they have offered me chemo still waiting to start treament,could you ask your brother the name of the trial drug he his having,I hope you dont mind me asking but does your brother work and as he carried on working.THANKYOU SEND MY LOVE TO YOUR BROTHER
