What a Lovely 'Almost' Ruby Wedding Garden Party

1 minute read time.

We are so happy having had a perfect day. 39 years since we got married, unbelievable but true.

Peter and I started today on a childishly rude note as I pulled back the sheets to administer a heparin injection, saying ' I have a little prick for you' his response was .... well ....' unprintable'

So we started the day laughing and  it has continued there have been just 9 of us our 2 Daughters , son in laws and three Grandchildren, at our eldest daughters home which is just a few minutes from us.

There was a treasure hunt for the kids but we forgot where we had laid the trail so when they got stuck we all had to pitch in to find all the clues, meanwhile our 9 year old Granddaughter had gone indoors and found all the hidden treasure, which she kindly decided to hide again somewhere different. absolute chaos but great fun .

A splendid Lunch with Peter and I at either end of the table was enjoyed by all, we had Christmas Crackers, Easter Bunnies, Balloons with Happy Birthday, and beautiful flowers made by our Granddaughter  in fact a total Hotch Potch, Peter ate well, its so much more relaxed now to eat at home as no rush or pressure on him and its always food he can manage.

As soon as lunch was over Peter was tucked up for a nap in the man cave we created at Christmas while the rest of us continued chatting and playing with the children and dog.until Peter woke up refreshed and we headed home.

Tomorrow Peter starts radiotherapy, I am very proud of his stoic attitude to this disease, he is thinner weaker and tired but still handsome, still Peter and I love the bones of him.

So that's why you posted all those lovely photos of your family!  You just look like such a happy bunch.  It's so great to read of what a wonderful day you and Peter and all the family had celebrating your nearly ruby wedding, and I hope it didn't tire Peter out too much.  As you say, precious days indeed, and congratulations on your anniversary.
