It is so nice to feel a little control coming back into our lives, we seem to have been trying to run up a descending escalator for the past few weeks, leaving little time or energy for us.
But with great help and support from the Hospital and Hospice Peter is improving. the Tranexamic Acid is working the elusive internal bleeding must have stopped as stools are no longer black and his hb is holding at 9 yipeeeee. no transfusions needed this week...
His iron stores are depleted and his team want to give intravenous iron but so far they have not been able to secure funding for this, they have applied to local commissioners for exceptional treatment funding. it seems unlikely the application will be successful. we fully understand this given the demands for funding and Peter's prognosis. but you never know....
He is coping well with the weekly Pacletaxol and Herceptin the side effects to date are minimal,he is losing weight and gets very tired but is fine if we take it slow. a Ct scan is booked for 11.03.2014.
Any way apart from a short hospice appointment tomorrow we are free until Tuesday and it feels soooo relaxing to just settle quietly here doing a jigsaw and listening to music. We are very lucky to once again have a little respite and are treasuring every moment.
