We took a deep breath, pressed reset, and started again.:))

1 minute read time.

Yesterday was a long one but a huge step forward after so much uncertainty.

We know we are very lucky to have been able to access world class experts who have given an informed and considered opinion that Peter's recent heart attack was not due to Paclitaxol or Herceptin, they explained yesterday how they arrived at that decision .

The trial office said based on this opinion, Peter could be offered an opportunity to continue.

The final decision was his but he could continue on trial with same drugs and dose

Given that at last scan Peter was showing a good response, he decided he wanted to continue, he has a will of iron and I have to admire his determination to fight this all the way.

We both have complete confidence  in his team who work tirelessly with us so openly and honestly.

Unfortunately  It was extremely difficult to canulate Peter and he ended  up with multiple dressings on his poor arms but eventually  he commenced cycle 4  it was given very very slowly and thank fully he was fine.

The plan

Continue on trial until progression

Continue on split dose Tinzaparin

New PICC line will be placed next week as his veins are so difficult to access now

Then

06.05 14  Muga scan and CT Scan

07.05.14 Ct Angiography and a   24 Hour Holter Tape,

So the 18 hour day was a success and we fell into bed feeling we had  pressed the reset button and managed with some heavy weight expertise to restart the journey.

Golly, Mushty, I was writing my blog post at the same time as you were writing yours.  There I was wittering on about birdsong and living in the moment while you and Peter are fighting such a serious battle.  Wow, he must be one very, very strong guy to want to carry on with the trial after he's been through so much.  You are two wonderful and brave people.  Reading your blog makes me feel a bit small.  I wish that, when things get a bit more serious for me, as they will one day, I'd have even half your courage and spirit.  Bless you both.

    Love, Dyad

Hey Dyad, Synchronized blog posts :))

Love the birds analagy, you are not wittering but bang on the mark.

Live in the moment no point rushing to meet trouble it can make it all the way on its own.

Mushty, so glad to read this better news. Peter certainly does have a will of iron, and a pretty strong lady by his side also! Hope you are both rested after that marathon day, and that you manage to enjoy some weekend sunshine. Hugs to you both xx
