Bit of a set back Peter was admitted to The Chelsea & Westminster Hospital on Wednesday bloods done and didn't need platelets , which was very encouraging.
Went to theatre early Thursday, the Consultant was unable to get through the tumor to retrieve the rogue stent , the hole is to small making it a huge risk so he has put another expanding stent in to dilate the tumor, which will take two weeks to fully open, then on 2nd May he hopes to be able to go through this stent to retrieve the first, then remove this one and place a perminnent stent in position. The surgeon Dr Martin Benson gave us such clear information we have utter confidence in him
Peter is amazing he doesn't complain, we spent last night in London at The Royal Marsden family accommodation just in case we needed help But apart from some pain/discomfort he was fine, clear fluids only for 24 hours and tolerating them well.
Arrived home midday Friday had thicker home made soup with small amount of minced chicken leg and mashed potato which has gone down seems much better already.
So we have a weekend off chemo with Peter's swallowing slightly better Whoopee
I have got the old food processor out to puree up a storm and cracked open the wine.
Until Monday when we are back in London for the next step, maybe chemo maybe not but as first bottle of cabernet sauvignon shiraz is empty whooooo careeeeeeeeees xx
