We intended to meet up with our family today at a nearby classic car show, and have a picnic lunch listening to the live music.
But the cold wet and windy weather forced a change of plan.
The nine of us met for an indoor picnic at our eldest daughters, where we held a maths tournament. which basically was who can get the most multiplication sums right in 5 minutes . Huh!! We were five adults doing our best but beaten hands down by three 10 year old children.
Knockout Draughts followed but we fared only slightly better.
Lunch was a noisy affair, I looked across the table at Peter laughing and taking a ribbing from our son in law while they recalled Peter mistaking the earplugs for sweets when they went clay pigeon shooting, and as I watched them all today my heart took a picture of our family happy and complete.
It has been a lovely day of fun and laughter, memories to treasure.
