Just a quick update

Less than one minute read time.

16.10.2012 we went out to celebrate Peter's sister's birthday had a lovely lunch Peter had steak , no hint that he had cancer.

A YEAR ON .........We took her out to lunch yesterday to celebrate her birthday. Peter managed

tomato soup, beer and icecream... What a mixture. but he was happy.xx

Monday morning we will catch the 4.40 train to London Peter has to be at The Royal Marsden at 07.30 they will admit him, then transfer him to The Chelsea & Westminster for his op , not sure what yet, as Martin Benson will decide when he can see what's going on down there, but  Peter is in safe hands and all will be well. he will then stay in Royal Marsden at least overnight but may be longer.

MB is very skilled and the stent work he has done on  Peter to date has been faultless so we feel very happy that yet again he will sort out Peter.

Peter is amazingly stoic and takes this all pretty much in his stride. so much so that today we are planning and booking a weekend away at the end of the month, something to look forward to .

    Best wishes to you both,

I read that too quickly and thought he had been out for steak yesterday,.  I was about to say "Wow!".  But just being out is nice even if we have to adapt what we select from the menu.  I always look for the fish first.  Luckily I have never liked steak so don't have to miss it while my oesophagus has been in the way.

Great that Peter takes it all in his stride (it's easier said than done, but getting on with life is the best way to stick two fingers up to this disease) and fingers crossed your surgeon Martin will do his magic next Monday and you can start looking forward to that weekend away at the end of the month.

Not everyone finds it easy, but you guys are a real example of how to make the most of what is not a pleasant situation. Long may you continue to get out and about, and make sure you keep us updated on the fun you're having!

    Hi PP and Wease

Thank you for encouragement, you are so right it certainly isn't an easy path any of us tread. But as long as we are able we will not bow to the beast. We plan to continue as you say to stick two fingers up at it.

Hugs and best wishes Mushty X
