Because of the chemotherapy course I'm on - I need a lot of extra sleep if and when exhausted. On Saturday afternoon I was having a nap, a really deep 10 minute sleep. A tap, tap, tap on my bedroom window woke me, and then I heard a Police siren. Through the drawn curtain I could see something flapping it's wings, at first I thought maybe a halloween vampire bat. It was a parakeet perched on the window sill making all the funny noises, we have lot's of them living locally now due to our moderate climate.
"They actually originate from the foothills of the Himaylayas, so they don't need to be all that warm to live comfortably in the UK, " says Andre Farra of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
He was a friendly little bugger but flew away when I opened the window to invite him in, they can mimic virtually anything
Maybe it's was a sign from above or him below, who knows? But, I sure am glad it wasn't a white dove !
