30 October False Dawn

1 minute read time.

Yesterday was a good day. Drove for an hour to the motor agent for the MOT.  Once home found I could climb the stairs with two cups of tea for the first time in weeks.  Rested in the evening then, -BOOM! something went and I could hardly move around the house.  Pain in the right buttock region.

Today not good. Struggled with the chores.  Wife is in trouble with her knees and shoulder and needs my help.  Her consultant rheumatologist has been NBG so far and we don't know what to do. Just made it to the village post office without creating a scene.  Gave 'strained my back again' as excuse for the limping slow walk.  Ibuprofen tabs and particularly paracetamol give little or no relief at all.  Curiously sitting is less painful so some hope there.  Due for CT scans on Friday and wondering how to get around the hospital with wife in tow. Couple of cripples we are.

I imagine The Room, that I have only visited as a reader so far, is at the end of a long passage. Down this passage are many doors that may open to let you out or for others to appear suddenly to help.  I often think of going to The Room and having a huge selfish howl but so far something or someone has arrived unexpectedly to divert me and help me out of the miserable state.

Hoping for a better day tomorrow.
