Well my mum has seen her urologist and he has said that the operation went well and is pleased with mum's progress so far. Nothing unexpected was found and he has given us a pathology report of what was removed, descriptions, grading etc.

The tumour is grade 3 with T3a Nx (which I think means non determined?) and M1

The next step he said is to give mum more blood tests and further scans, particularly on the lung area where some leisons have been picked up. He wants to keep an eye of them to see if they change at all and then if they do further treatment would be required. So more testing and waiting............ and back to the urologist in July.

Pleased that they are confident all cancer has been removed when the kidney was taken out and there was no spread into the renal vein either, which is very positive!

The only thing he did mention was that as both my parents have had kidney cancer then me and my sister may stand a good chance of developing it too! He suggests getting screened as going through a geneticist could be a long process. So more investigation into my options are needed.
