It's been a while since I wrote in the blog, mainly because things continued smoothly and there were no real updates to give.
We received good news from the oncologist in June, in so much as she confirmed that she is still happy with the developments, all scans were good, bloods great, no issues what-so-ever.
Asked maybe if we wanted to go on holiday, have a break from the treatment if Dal felt that he could do that and so we have booked a little camping trip :) yes we got the camping bug after all these years and decided to grab the bull by the horns and get away from the city.
Dal's treatment on Friday seemed to knock him off his feet, if you have read the blog before you will know that this is quite unusual for him, he has been very fortunate with minimal side effects over the past few years. Not sure exactly what is different this time, or whether it is totally unrelated, but today Dal became quite unwell, so much so that he packed up his home working early and contacted the chemo hotline...
We had taken his temperature and it was too high, he had also been running backwards and forwards to the toilet, most of the night and through the morning and as the morning continued he started to shiver and look very off colour. Chemo hotline call back, advised for Dal to go straight to our local A&E department, once there they confirmed his high temperature, they put him on a drip and took bloods and samples to see what was going on. After some time they allowed him to eat, but this just started another chain reaction, and he ended up on another drip.
Dal has to stay in overnight, we are waiting on the covid test coming back, and on a scan. ... though the stomach X-ray, Kidney function test and bloods have all come back good...
Time to just wait now, and probably try to get some sleep... Healing flying all around you Dal, you are the magician, stay strong my love and come home soon... xx
Update 06.7.22 Dal is still in hospital, he seems to have had an acute case of campylobacter jejuni bacterial infection and has been on a drip almost constantly, he has now also been prescribed the correct antibiotics and looks very much better than he did a few days ago. Hopefully he will be home in the next few days.
Update 07.07.22 Dal is home Yay.... Feeling a lot better and almost back to his old self.
