November 2024, Dal had radiotherapy over 5 days to try to silence the progression of the 2 liver mets that fused into one single 3.9cm mass, he remained off of systemic therapy, once they were ready to provide the radiotherapy there has been a further growth of the tumour, but they had been able to encompass it in the SBRT field. Overall things seemed to be okay, other than some ongoing abdominal pain and associated discomfort for which he used the off the counter wind and digestion medication as advised by radiographer.
The consultant letter to his GP from March, advised that he remains well, with no issues,
In May it was advised that Dal remains well, thought the recent CT scan shows increased size of the liver lesion, but it was not clear whether this is progression or post treatment, so an MRI was requested.
Consultation on 4th June stated = We had an MRI scan of the liver which demonstrated no definitive evidence of metastases, another CT and MRI to be given in 3 months. is on. they believed the growth on the liver was biloma rather than cystic metastis
By Mid June, Dal's stomach started to enlarge, his burping became more prominent and on the 23rd of June we called out the paramedics, because Dal was experiencing severe pain, we were advised that it was something like gastritis.
Dal then believed that because the hospital and the paramedics had both said everything was ok, that he would just be causing a fuss if he went to the GP due to the continued belly swelling and pain.
Wednesday 2nd July, Dal woke at 5.30 and told me to take him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a blood clot in his lung and a bile leak in his stomach, also, the 10cm x 4.5cm subcapsular fluid collection lying next to the liver metastasis was now 14cm x 9cm
Dal is in discomfort waiting for another London hospital to have an MDT meeting on Wednesday 9th July before a decision is made on what treatment will be undertaken, but the Doctor in the current hospital has mentioned a splattering of cancer in the stomach.
We don't really know what is next, whether this is critical or complication, but Dal mentioned that I should update the blog and let you guys know.
I know, that alongside me, we all wish him the very best and the correct treatment as soon as possible. There is only so much pain a person can take!
